Our treatment goals for adolescents include promoting a sense of hope and stability for our patients. A multidisciplinary treatment team, patients, their families and referring health professionals work together to create a treatment plan customized for each individual’s needs. We introduce a range of techniques designed to help patients more effectively cope with life stressors to help increase personal resiliency and, ultimately, a stronger family system.
Coral Shores Behavioral Health provides 24-hour inpatient treatment in a secure setting for adolescents ages 12–17. Throughout the program, the staff encourages young patients to be respectful of themselves and each other, and to focus on their treatment.
A psychiatrist-led multidisciplinary treatment team guides the treatment program for each teen. The length of stay can vary from a few days up to a week, and a level behavior system allows the adolescents in our care to earn privileges. Family visitation is strongly encouraged and patients can make phone calls daily. Patients may also send and receive mail, and they have access to a patient advocate who they may speak with at any time.
