MedPsych Program for older adults in Florida
Treatments and services for depressed or isolated seniors can vary based on each patient’s diagnosis, medical history and limitations. Depending on mental health history, patients may work with experiential group therapy with licensed social workers and therapists. Skilled teams of social workers and master’s-level therapists deliver quality behavioral health care, including:
- 24/7 nursing care
- Medication management
- Weekly nutrition group
- Activity and recreational therapy
- Drug and alcohol education
- Family involvement
- Discharge and safety planning
Services target older adults with mental health crises along with symptoms that can disrupt their daily lives. Adults may experience intense feelings of isolation, for instance, or an unwillingness to take care of their own hygiene or even thoughts of suicide.
